To the Crawford family, Dean Crawford has remained in my memory since 1972 my freshman year at Howard. Dean Crawford was an inspiration to my spiritual awareness when I attended Chapel, and the gospel choir was very uplifting. I cherish these memories. Former student, Lois

I was saddened to learn of your passing. You were one of my favorite HUSD professors. You were always so kind to me, always encouraging. I thoroughly enjoyed every class I took with you. Every time I stand to preach it feels like you are there with me. Thank you for sharing your gifts with so many. To the family and friends, may the many memories keep us as we continue travel on our individual and collective paths.

I am so sorry to learn of Rev. Crawford's passing from this life. Years ago, I was a bridesmaid in the wedding of Betty and Evans. And since he was pastor at our church, Pond Street Baptist Church in Providence, Rhode Island and Betty was both choir director and organist as well as my relative, I knew both quite well. Betty, I know you feel that the loss of this loving man will leave a giant hole in your life. Praying that God's comforting hand will sustain you.

I was saddened to hear of the death of Dean Crawford. His lovely wife had told me that he was in Manor Care in Adelphi,MD. I went on a search through the white pages only to find there was an address on Riggs Road and one on Georgia Avenue. I was unsuccessful in my search. The next thing I know, his death was announced. Dean Crawford was my professor in preaching. On any given day he could tell me what I had preached. But my greatest memory of him was that he asked me if he could participate in my ordination service. Can you imagine? I quickly said YES. He prayed my ordination prayer. I shall never forget and am eternally grateful for that. Condolences to Mrs. Crawford and thanks for sharing him with so many. May he rest in peace in the bosom of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ.

Dean Crawford left beautiful memories for everyone blessed to have known him. I'll not forget when he stopped by my mother's home during my bereavement. His inspiring words are forever edged in my mind. He was very much missed on the Howard University campus after his retirement. My sincere condolences to Mrs Crawford and the entire family. Rest in perpetual peace Dean.

Sorry to learn about the death of our dear Dean Crawford. As a foreign student at Howard in the 1970's, I was engaged with him on few occasions about higher education in Africa. He was very knowledgeable and accommodating to students. He was loved by students. May his soul rest in peace.

Dean Crawford, you are forever in my heart. I appreciate you and all you did for me as your Graduate Assistant of the Chapel from 1983-1985, as your student in your Preaching Class, and as a seminarian and President of my graduating class. "And your deeds do follow you." Mrs. Crawford, I pray your memories of wonder and amazement of seven decades of marriage will BE a source of comfort in Dean Crawford's absence from the body. Nearly 40 years ago, Dean Crawford christened my daughter on the Howard University Campus. His legacy of kindness and thoughtful counsel will live on forever. Condolences to his family. I know that my former instructor, Mrs. Lynn McGuire, will serve his family well during their bereavement.
