Major IRVING McKENZIE BIRMINGHAM  
On February 14, 2014, Major Irving M. Birmingham (39) of Rocklin, CA, a professional engineer, military leader, accomplished photographer, and family genealogist, went home to be with the Lord. His joy of life, love of family, and devotion to friends will never be forgotten. Irving was born at Fort Leonard Wood, MO on February 19, 1974 and settled in Fairfax VA in 1982. He attended Cherry Run Elementary School, Lake Braddock Secondary School, and graduated from Thomas Jefferson School of Science and Technology. In 1997, upon graduation from Massachusetts Institute of Technology, he was commissioned a Second Lieutenant in the US Air Force. Irving spent the last 17 years in California where he worked as a Hardware Engineer for Hewlett Packard and served in the Air National Guard. He leaves behinds his loving wife of nine years, Susana C. Birmingham; children, Rebecca Susana, Irving Andres "Andy", Ana Lucia, and McKenzie Rose; grandmother, Rebecca L. Wimberly; devoted mother, Sallie Gowdy Birmingham; loving sister, Camille Birmingham; and a host of other relatives and friends.  A celebration of life service will be held at Alfred Street Baptist Church, 301 S. Alfred Street, Alexandria, VA on Friday, March 28, 2014 at 11 a.m. The service will be preceded by a visitation at 10 a.m. Interment at Arlington National Cemetery on Thursday, May 8, 2014 at 11 a.m. Memorial donations may be made to the Irving M. Birmingham Memorial College Fund for his four young children at First Tech Bank, c/o Birmingham Memorial Account, 1210 Roseville Parkway Suite 130, Roseville, CA 95678. Arrangements by Pope Funeral Homes.
