Rick Olson
July 22, 1954 – July 28, 2024
Rick Alvin Olson, 70, of Wenatchee, WA, sadly passed away on July 28, 2024. Rick was born on July 22, 1954, to Charles and Wanda Olson. After graduating Wenatchee High School in 1972, he went to Ron Bailey School of Broadcasting and received his First-Class license with the FCC.
Rick's first love was Rock and Roll music. He truly had the best radio voice and had abundant knowledge of all things music. He worked at KMEL radio station in his early years. Later working at KW3 radio station. He also worked for U-Haul as a district representative of the Northwest for several years. He owned and managed Olson Orchards since 1986, taking over the farm for his Father.
In 1974, he married Colleen Pearson and together they had two daughters: Denise Olson Warden (Nathan Warden) and Shayna Olson. Rick and Colleen were married for 14 years.
In 1995, he married Mona Lisa Keen and they had one daughter together, Ricki Olson Cherry (Jesse Cherry). He also has two stepdaughters: Camille Jones (Cody Jones) and Jennifer Fullerton (Tim Fullerton). Rick also was a proud grandad to: Kodi and Dylan Warden, Emily and Alia White, Peytan, Olivia and Corinne Fullerton. He is also survived by his mother, Wanda Olson (94), and his beloved dog, Bailey.
Rick loved his family deeply and tradition was very important to him. He loved hunting, fishing and the beauty of the outdoors. His favorite holiday was Christmas and he loved all that it entailed. He had a compassionate heart and a loving personality. He would do anything for a friend or family member. As Rick grew older, he became an old softy and would often get chocked up over any heart felt story.
Rick's last few years were hard on his body. We are grateful that he is in heaven at peace and free from pain and discomfort with his heavenly Father, his dad, his best friend and brother, grandparents, cousins and countless friends.
"And in the end, the love you take is equal to the love you make."
- The Beatles, 1969
