Jack Ammon Wiseman

Jack Ammon Wiseman died peacefully surrounded by his loving family in Washington Crossing, PA. on Friday, April 4, 2025. He was 83.

Born October 5, 1941, in St. Georges, Bermuda, Jack entered the US on November 25, 1942, traveling with his mother and two older sisters, Peggy, Arlene and Barbara. Due to his father's work on construction dredges, Jack lived in North Carolina, Texas, Mississippi, and Louisiana for the next 14 years, finally settling in Metairie, LA, when he was in the fifth grade. Jack graduated from East Jefferson High School and joined the US Navy in June 1959. He trained as a Guided Missile Technician and was honorably discharged from active duty as a 3rd class petty officer in September 1962. During his college years, Jack enlisted in the US Navy Reserve and completed his military obligations, receiving an honorable discharge in 1965. Jack obtained a BS in Electrical Engineering from LSU in 1966 and an MS in Electrical Engineering in 1971.
Jack's professional career spanned designing process design systems and supervising the electrical department of a manufacturing facility; design engineering and project management for 35 years in the international Oil and Gas industry, finishing as Vice Chairman of the Board of a Russian oil venture and Board member of an oil venture in Azerbaijan. Jack then spent three years consulting for the Oil and Gas industry. He participated in Hurricane Katrina recovery efforts, assisting in rebuilding efforts in Louisiana and Mississippi. Jack completed his professional career in compliance management of the North American high-voltage electric generation and transmission grid. During his career, he was a guest lecturer at Georgetown University and MIT.
Jack's personal life in Vermont included serving as an elected Justice of the Peace, Notary Public, and Communications Chairman for the Vermont Republican Party. In Pennsylvania, he was a member of the Environmental Advisory Council and the Planning Commission for Upper Makefield Township, PA, and a member of the Board of his community.
Jack loved golf and volunteered for the USGA at the 2008 US Open at Torrey Pines, the 2013 US Open at Merion, and the 2016 Ryder Cup at Hazeltine. Jack loved coaching and shared his passion by coaching baseball in Dubai, UAE, basketball in Algiers, LA, and finally golf at George School in Newtown, Pennsylvania.
Jack is survived by his wife of 27 years, Sharon Lawrence Wiseman, three sons, Christopher, Craig, Kevin, and extra daughter Jennifer, nine grandchildren, his sister Barbara Baker, and two brothers, Marshall and Arl 'Bud.
